All clients must be HIV positive to be eligible for services. Individuals who are not HIV positive, but are directly affected by the disease (family, parents, caregivers, partners, etc.) may be eligible for referral or for individual, group, couples, and family counseling.
Proof of HIV status can be provided by a confirmatory lab test or signed physician statement.
We serve residents in any of the 23 counties in Northeastern Oklahoma. Our service area includes Adair, Cherokee, Craig, Creek, Delaware, Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore, Mays, McIntosh, Muskogee, Nowata, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee, Pittsburg, Rogers, Sequoyah, Tulsa, Wagoner, and Washington counties.
Proof of residence can be provided by a valid driver’s license or a bill or a statement mailed to you with name and current address.
Any person with HIV/AIDS in Northeastern Oklahoma is eligible to receive mental health therapy by our licensed psychotherapist as well as medical nutrition therapy by our dietetic technician at no charge, regardless of income.
Clients with household income of less than 400% of the Federal Poverty Guideline can access care coordination services. From there, you can be referred to other services, both within Tulsa CARES and within the community. Please contact a care coordinator to learn more about income eligibility for our other programs.
