Group News
Group therapy can be an important source of support and healing for men/women engaged in the therapeutic process. Tulsa CARES offers a variety of specialized groups to meet the needs of its clients
Tulsa has two support groups: OLP for men, and POW for women. Here’s what’s going on with them.
OLP – Oklahoman’s Living Positive
OLP is a group of ordinary people dedicated to improving the quality of life of those living with HIV/AIDS through the creation of a “family-community” providing support, education and interaction.
The group meets every Wednesday.
For more information please contact Mark A Smalley, LCSW.
POW – Power of Women
For women struggling with life's many challenges, this group provides a supportive environment to address a variety of issues including relationships, low self esteem, anxiety, and depression. The group meets on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For more information please contact Casey Bakhsh, LCSW.
Activities throughout the year have included: Belly-dancing, jewelry making, painting pottery, cross-stitch and community fieldtrips.
