Marianne Wetherill, MPH, RD/LD

Marianne has been Tulsa CARES’ registered dietitian for Tulsa CARES since 2004. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of Oklahoma as well as a Master’s Degree in Public Health at the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa. Marianne is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Public Health. She is a member of the Infectious Disease practice group of the American Dietetic Association. In addition to working at Tulsa CARES, Marianne occasionally teaches nutrition classes at the college level. She is an active member on the Oklahoma HIV Planning Council and enjoys working with clients to improve the quality of care and services they receive.

At Tulsa CARES, Marianne visits with clients one-on-one and also teaches a monthly class series titled the Positive Eating Program (also known as PEP Group). She is willing to work with any client at any level to improve his or her health through positive eating choices. In her free time, Marianne enjoys running, practicing yoga and spending time with her dog, Roxie. She also enjoys a good read, especially books that discuss food politics, the history of science or vegetarian nutrition.


 

Micah Hartwell, B.A., Certificate in Public Health

Micah has been the Nutrition Services Program Director for Tulsa CARES since 2006. He earned his Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma as well as a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from the University of Florida. Before coming to Tulsa CARES, Micah worked for nearly 10 years in the natural foods industry. Micah directs all components of the food+Health program, including the grocery assistance (food pantry) and the Second Cup Café (congregate meal program). Micah enjoys preparing healthy foods in tasty ways that anyone can do at home. In addition to being skillful in the kitchen, Micah is an avid rower and competes regularly at regattas across the United States.


 

Stephanie Iervolino, AA

Stephanie joined Tulsa CARES in 2004. She initially began working at the agency as a team member of the AmeriCorps National AIDS Fund. In 2005, she was hired as the Food Pantry Coordinator after completing her service with AmeriCorp. Stephanie holds an Associate in Liberal Arts and History. She is currently enrolled in the BSW program at Northeastern State University. Stephanie has experience working in HIV outreach, education, care, testing and counseling services.

Stephanie enjoys visiting with clients during their monthly grocery shopping appointments. During these appointments Stephanie weighs clients, monitors blood pressure and discusses any health issues a client might be experiencing. Stephanie works closely with the dietitian to guide clients in making healthy eating decisions. Stephanie ensures the pantry is fully stocked with nutritious food and essential toiletry items on a regular basis. During the summer months Stephanie accepts donations from the Brookside and Cherry Street Farmer’s Markets which are then distributed to clients throughout the week.

Outside of work she maintains an active lifestyle which includes school, rock climbing, soccer and enjoying small dinners with friends and family.
